It is amazing how quickly 12 weeks goes, and how quickly good intentions also vanish. Three months ago I signed up to do a 5.7km run as part of the Melbourne Marathon being held tomorrow.
My training regime has consisted of buying new running shoes, a string of late nights, drinking white wine instead of going for planned runs (it was raining), sleeping in instead of going for planned runs (it was cold & dark), and have only started a few cursory 2.5km walk/jog/shuffle combos in the last 3 weeks.
Thus you can imagine I am somewhat anxious about tomorrow’s event. Still, I reckon I can manage it that I’ll have enough energy to run victorious into the MCG (before they close the gates!)
