Well, I did it – completed the 5.7km run, with a final running lap inside the MCG. Just goes to show what a lack of training can achieve!
It was a glorious sunny Sunday, and the 1,000s of people running about provided that added element of excitement and anticipation in the air (or was that sweat?).
The race was less stressful than I expected. Due to the fact that when you are running with 3,500 other people, there is always someone older, larger, & slower than you . Thus it is very easy to just settle in & pace yourself at a nice gentle jog. So thanks must go to the 80 year old gent who I followed for all of the race. I tried to sprint past him at the finish – but he too had kept something in reserve for that last burst of speed. Cheeky bugger.
Good for you!! 🙂 🙂
I love that you got into the slipstream of another “rider” 😉
Yes, but who’d have thought he’d be the Mark Cavendish of finishers 🙂
